ABOUT
WHO I AM
I’m a Canadian landscape and expedition artist who has been painting since the age of 12. My painting expeditions have taken me across Canada (including the high Arctic), Antarctica, Siberia, Greenland, Iceland & more.“Being an artist is more than paintings–it’s who I am, what I do, the places I go, my dreams, the impact I have on others, and sharing my vision.”
MY APPROACH
With my 1930s paintbox (which was given to me by renowned artist Doris McCarthy when I was her studio assistant), I prefer to paint en plein air (on location) in oils on birch panel. I sketch in my sketchbook, write in my journal and take photographs of details for reference. Then, back in my studio I decide what story I want my painting to tell. I bring all of the experiences together with oil paint on canvas creating the final painting.
